Greek for "description," ekphrasis engages artworks through the imaginative act of deep reflection and speculation to create an entirely new form.

We will look at ekphrastic poetry by renowned poets and create works of our own. Please bring two images of your favorite painting, sculpture or other visual art to inspire your poems.

Writers at any stage of their journey are welcome and will enjoy this unique way to celebrate National Poetry Month

Kim Hamilton has an MFA in creative writing and a poetry collection, "Calling Through Water," published in 2020. She has collaborated with photographer Carolyn Krieg in the collection "Visitation."
