IslandWood Community Concert

IslandWood Community Concert

Presented by IslandWood at IslandWood

For all ages:

Zach Fluery & Friends will be playing in our Great Hall. Zach is a Northwest artist, producer & session player. His work includes 3 original albums; collaborations with Noah Gundersen, Hot Bodies in Motion, Allen Stone, and Macklemore; and film scoring for Netflix & Lionsgate Film. The concert will end with s’mores at our Friendship Circle!

For kids:

Avery Hill, a former IslandWood graduate student, will be leading an interactive storytelling musical experience for children at the Friendship Circle. Caregivers can either stay for the fun or drop their children off and head to the Zach Fluery show in the Great Hall if they wish. The concert will end with s’mores!

We’ll sing along to classics like Down By the Bay and Stand By Me, and learn some new tunes to carry you home. Learn why some mischievous mice ended up hiding inside a Douglas fir cone, what some consider the First Person’s First Lesson to be, and why sometimes, Good Luck is Bad Luck is Good Luck.

Avery is a performing artist, songwriter, storyteller, and music teacher. Since 2013, she has been teaching ukulele classes and workshops, leading jams, and instructing at camps and retreats. Her absolute favorite place to make music and enjoy the company of others is around the campfire, so let’s warm up those singing voices and we’ll see you there!

Her latest album is Dreams & Ghosts: A family Album (2015), featuring the award-winning single Hello & Goodbye.
