This workshop is a perfect place to either begin or further develop your experience with Shamanic journeying. Friday evening we will introduce you to both yoga nidra and Shamanic journeying.
Have you had an experience when you had a full body YES when deciding to make a change or start a new adventure? We have all had conversations in our mind rationalizing or justifying why we shouldn’t do something when our body says yes. Our rational world has not supported the process of listening to our bodies and our inner guidance. Shamanic journeying is a practice that supports embodied wisdom.
A Shaman is someone who has a foot in many worlds, the one we see and the three worlds that are ever present but invisible to our ordinary consciousness. A Shaman’s role is to guide us and be a messenger between these worlds. The three worlds include nature guides in the lower world, ancestral guides in the upper world, and middle world energies in this laboratory we call life. All are conscious entities that are here and waiting to provide power, healing and information for our lives. Shamans use sound vibration – often drumming – to shift our consciousness so we have more access to these worlds and their guidance.
Shamanic journeying is not something we do. Instead it is a practice of learning to relax and allow our consciousness to move freely in these three worlds. Our busy lives can make it challenging to relax our bodies and our minds. Yoga nidra is a process of relaxing the body so our awareness can more easily move inward to the Shamanic realms.
