Vast of Night – smARTfilms: They’re Out There! Series

Presented by Bainbridge Island Museum of Art at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

Since the dawn of time, we have been speculating whether we are alone in the cosmos. Fortunately, the film industry has answered that question even though science has not.

Join us to see how Hollywood has depicted encounters with those from other worlds in our sci-fi series They’re Out There!

At BIMA, we are dedicated to inspiring curiosity and wonder—and following it wherever it leads. This month, follow us on a journey off planet!
FEATURED FILM – THE VAST OF NIGHT
2020| 1h31m | PG-13 | Mystery Sci-Fi

In the twilight of the 1950s, on one fateful night in New Mexico, a young switchboard operator and a charismatic radio DJ discover a strange audio signal that could change their small town and future forever.  This first-time filmmaker, Andrew Patterson, has crafted an excellent period piece with some splendid story-telling.
