Survival Biology Art Camp

Survival Biology Art Camp

Presented by SHINE Art Academy at Fort Ward Park

Forage the forest floor to identify indigenous plants, and weave a cedar basket to harvest salmon berries. Learn to tie knots. We’ll share native Coast Salish stories, hunt for signs of animal tracks, play a lion hunting game, and create found object animal sculptures. Students will discover and draw a Barred Owl habitat, and make a Biome Terrarium. Students will become Field Biologists to observe nature, ask inquiry questions, and correlate data following NSCS standards. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and a rain jacket. Be prepared for a full day of outdoor learning and having fun making Art! Meet at the Southwest entrance to Fort Ward Hill Parke off of Fort Ward Hill Rd NE.
