LIVE GRIEF EVENT: Community Together

LIVE GRIEF EVENT: Community Together

Presented by Community Organizations at The Bainbridge Pavilion

Multiple community organizations are participating in a community event to help parents with understanding how to support their teens in grief while also working through it as a parent. Parents and teens who need to gather to process this loss are invited to this free event. Registration is required as there will be limited capacity and COVID screening upon entry.

A panel of local specialists will take adults through a discussion of how parents can be there for their kids trying to process grief.  Our hope is that parents will walk away feeling like they have tools and a confidence about talking and working with their family through this sadness and all that grief makes us feel.

Panelists:

Sarah Frost - BISD School Social Worker
Carol Pendleton - Marriage and Family Therapist
Helen Burke - Counselor, Bainbridge Youth Services (youth counseling and parent coaching)
Victoria Heemstra - Mental Health Advisor
Sharon Stanley - PhD, Trauma Therapist, Founder of Somatic Transformation
Moderator::Jillian Bateman - Young Life Area Director Bainbridge Island/N. Kitsap
