Frondescence: A Spring Series with Joy Evans - A 4-Part Series In-Studio

Presented by Dayaalu Yoga and Wellness Center at Dayaalu Yoga and Wellness Center

Saturdays, 2:00-3:30pm

4 Sessions: Feb 24, Mar 16, Apr 6, & Apr 27

Join Joy for a four-part series combining nature therapy, community sound healing, and Celtic contemplation practices that invite you to notice what is unfurling this spring. In the Celtic wheel of the year, early February marks the beginning of the transition into spring. This is the time of frondescence, or “ period of unfolding of leaves” as plants respond to the lengthening sunlight. This unfolding is sometimes subtle, sometimes dramatic.

In this contemplative practice, we will spend time gently moving around the courtyard of Dayaalu reconnecting with the senses and connecting with trees and plants. We will also practice inside the studio with an orientation toward deepening our connections with the more than human world and ourselves. Space will be held for reflective discussion.

Nature and forest therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, or "forest bathing." Joy blends nature therapy and sound healing practices. The gentle sounds of alchemy crystal singing bowls will support your reflections and dreaming about what is unfurling within you this spring. Gentle attention will be given to the heart and throat chakras of each person to support connection to the greening energy, as well as what wants express this spring.

When you slow down, what will you notice expanding around and within you?

Connect with the more than human world, yourself, and others in an intentionally small group. Registration for this 4-part series is limited to 8 participants.

Studies have demonstrated a wide array of psychological and physical health benefits from spending time connecting in nature. Learn more about the benefits of forest bathing/nature therapy on Joy's website:
