The Surya Namaskaram Lineup with Yogeśwarī
The Sun Salutation can be a beautiful and beneficial practice that elegantly flows as a moving meditation.
By refining the alignment of each position to enhance stability and spaciousness, and by coordinating many mini movements for more easeful transitions, this series of 12 individual poses becomes one joyful flow.
In the Surya Namaskaram Lineup workshop, we’ll:
identify your individual ideal alignment to enable a spacious, smooth flow
dive into the details of the Integral Yoga Sun Salutation for energy efficiency and stability
polish the postures as well as practice techniques to condition for transitions
explore the energetic effects when we turn the attention from the physical to the subtle experience
In examining and integrating the details of the physical form, we experience that the energetic whole is more powerful than the sum of its parts.
Yoga Nidra with Melissa Anne
Yoga Nidra can be translated to Yogic Sleep. When we practice Yoga Nidra, however, we aren’t moving into the traditional sleep state. We put our senses “to sleep” to journey from the external to the internal landscape where we access our truest self, which the yoga teachings remind us is love.
This is the practice of Yoga Nidra: building our capacity to move from the outer to the inner and access the truth.
It’s an outside in and inside out job to remove the obstacles embedded in our bodies and minds as a result of everyday life, so we can live as we are truly meant to: as beings of love.
In addition to the spiritual benefits, regular practice of Yoga Nidra has been proven to strengthen immunity, decrease inflammation and reduce pain, lower blood pressure, improve sleep, heighten creative flow and more.
During the Yoga Nidra section of our workshop we’ll:
learn about Yoga Nidra and the benefits of practicing from both a mystical and scientific perspective.
journey through the layers that cover up our access to the Self, called the Koshas in the yoga teachings, and how they relate to brain wave states identified by modern science.
create a Sankalpa to connect to a personal truth. More than a fleeting New Year’s resolution or personal goal, when you connect with your sankalpa, you radiate your truth and it becomes your guiding light, your own inner light. Your Sankalpa can be used during the workshop, in your yoga practice and beyond.
experience a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra practice.
Renew your connection with your deepest truth in this practice of sacred homecoming to Self.
