Introducing a new video series, Artist’s Books Unshelved

Take a deep dive into the unique artform of artist’s books with a new video series exploring selected pieces from the Cynthia Sears Artist’s Books Collection.

This first episode, Crossroads and Currents, features work by artists Tyler Starr and Tia Blassingame that bring to light historical atrocities and explore issues of racial injustice.
New videos will premiere on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at 11am on our YouTube and Facebook pages.

  • Take a look inside two artist's books from the Cynthia Sears Collection that explore issues of racial justice and atrocities. In this first episode of the new series Artist's Books Unshelved, host Catherine Alice Michaelis features "Identification of Cars Participating in Klan Rally at Montgomery Alabama, March 21st, 1965" by Tyler Starr and "Mourning/Warning: Numbers and Repeaters" by Tai Blassingame.
