Internationally Acclaimed Poet Victoria Adukwei Bulley Comes to Eagle Harbor Book Co.

Internationally acclaimed poet, Victoria Adukwei Bulley, is coming to Eagle Harbor Book Co. to share her collection of poetry, entitled Quiet.  Victoria has taken the world by storm in her brief career.  She won a 2018 Eric Gregory Award. Her first collection Quiet was shortlisted for the 2022 T.S. Eliot Prize and won the 2023 Folio Prize for poetry.  She also won the 2023 John Pollard Foundation International Poetry Prize for Quiet.  Her work “achieves a tone both delicate and strong, studded with moments that catch the breath. With a generous and interrogative spirit, Quiet marks the arrival of a major poetic talent.”

About Victoria: Victoria Adukwei Bulley is a British-born Ghanaian poet, writer, and filmmaker who was shortlisted for the Brunel University African Poetry Prize in 2016 and received an Eric Gregory Award for her pamphlet Girl B, published as part of the New Generation African Poets series in 2017. An alumna of both the Barbican Young Poets and Octavia Poetry Collectives, as well as a Complete Works and Instituto Sacatar fellow, Bulley has held residencies internationally in the US, Brazil, and the V&A. In 2019, she was awarded a TECHNĒ scholarship for fully-funded doctoral research at Royal Holloway, University of London; and in 2022 her debut collection, Quiet, circling around ideas of Black interiority, intimacy and selfhood, will be published by Faber.
