BI Reads for Justice community conversation: "Why Talk about Race on Bainbridge Island?"

The City of Bainbridge Island and its Race Equity Advisory Committee, in partnership with Eagle Harbor Books and Bainbridge Library, present the first in a series of BI Reads for Justice Community Conversations that asks: “Why talk about race on Bainbridge Island?”

Hosts Chasity Malatesta (Multicultural Advisory Council) and Brandi Bispham (Woodward Middle School history teacher) will facilitate a thoughtful, and thought-provoking, conversation among key community members from a variety of sectors–schools, government, business, nonprofit, and environment.

BI Reads for Justice is a new program sponsored by the City that encourages Islanders to read one book together. This year’s selection is Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi.
